Ryan has worked in the music industry for the past 11 years as a sync licensing and brand partnerships specialist.
He started his career at EMI Music Publishing, followed by an 7 year run at independent music publisher/management firm Primary Wave where he rose to the level of Partner/Executive Creative Director of Licensing. Primary Wave’s catalogs and artists included Kurt Cobain/Nirvana, Steven Tyler of Aerosmith, Hall & Oates, Reggie Watts, CeeLo Green, among others.
While at Primary Wave, Ryan brokered creative partnerships between Wieden+Kennedy and Daniel Johnston as well as The Martin Agency with Def Leppard.
Ryan then moved to Warner Bros Records where he held the title of VP, Creative Licensing for Ads and worked on releases from The Black Keys, Damon Albarn, Tom Petty, Royal Blood, to name a few. He has licensed music to numerous brands over his career including Apple, Activision, Sony, Google, Nike, GMC, Buick, Toyota, Nissan, Honda, Burger King, Pizza Hut, Southern Comfort, and Southwest Airlines.
Most recently, Ryan joined Droga5 as a Music Supervisor.
Ryan is an avid live music photographer and shoots mostly on assignment for Brooklynvegan.com.
