Biography
As Vice President of Global Artist and Industry Relations, Kevin oversees Smule’s relationships and licenses with artists, labels, publishers, and other relevant industry contacts. Smule has launched campaigns involving both global artists such as Ed Sheeran, Luke Bryan, Shawn Mendes, Jessie J, and Jason Derulo, among others, as well as major regional artists in Indonesia, Malaysia, Brazil, Latin America, and multiple European countries.
Kevin previously led licensing initiatives for Hertz, Lichtenstein & Young LLP, where he worked on projects for both artist (Gwen Stefani, Demi Lovato, Britney Spears) and brand clients (McDonald’s, Hasbro). Kevin handled projects ranging from celebrity endorsements and tour sponsorships to sync licenses covering the use of music in commercials, marketing campaigns, and merchandise.
Kevin began his career at EMI Music where he worked in all areas of music licensing, including the pitching of content and negotiation of license terms for music placements in films, commercials, and TV shows. In his final role at EMI, Kevin oversaw all video game, new media, and merchandise licensing for the EMI family of record labels and artists. Kevin negotiated campaigns that brought together the artists Katy Perry, Coldplay, The Beatles, and The Beach Boys with brands such as Ubisoft, Electronic Arts, Disney Mobile, and Bally Technologies.
